How do I become a patient?
To become a patient, just follow these easy steps:
- Visit our website at www.bignarstiemedical.com.
- Click on the "Check if I'm Eligible" button.
- Fill out the application form.
Upload these documents:
- Your ID (like a passport or driver's license).
- Proof of your current address (like a utility bill or bank statement from the last 3 months).
Your Summary of Care, which is a brief report of your medical history. You can get this from your GP. That's it! Once you've done these steps, you're on your way to becoming a patient.

When will I get my prescription?
After your consultation, the dispensary will contact you to confirm your order and ask for payment for your medication. Once you've paid, your medication will be delivered within 2 working days. We'll send you an email with the tracking details for your medication.

Do I need to ask my GP if I can start medical cannabis treatment?
Patients typically come to our clinic on their own and don't need their GP's permission to start medical cannabis treatment.

I've not been to the Doctors for my condition, can I access treatment?
Patients must have tried primary treatments for their condition to be eligible. Any medication, treatment, or therapy your doctor offered you, even if you didn't take it, counts towards the two required treatments for eligibility.

How often do I need to make an appointment?
Following your initial consultation, the law requires us to arrange a follow-up meeting with you after one month, and then every three months (at months 3, 6, and 9) in your first year.

How long is a consultation?
We suggest setting aside 30 minutes for your online doctor consultation. A link to the meeting will be emailed to you before your consultation begins.

What happens during the initial Consultation
Our first consultations are planned to last 30 minutes. We encourage all patients to use this time to openly discuss their medical condition, past cannabis use, and their reasons for exploring medical cannabis treatment.

Do you charge for delivery?
All prescriptions are shipped via secure courier service at no additional cost (once per prescription). Once your order has been dispatched, we will provide you with a tracking link via email

Can I be prescribed medical cannabis via the NHS?
Getting medical cannabis through the NHS is very limited, typically only for serious rare epilepsy cases, chemotherapy-related vomiting or nausea, and certain multiple sclerosis muscle stiffness cases. Most people looking for medical cannabis treatment usually get it from private clinics.

Do you charge for repeat prescriptions?
Over the course of a 12-month medical treatment plan, the fees and services provided each month are as follows:
- In Month 1, there is a £95.00 fee for a one-off appointment with a specialist.
- In Month 2, the patient pays £49.00 for a mandatory check-up.
- Month 3 includes a £30.00 charge as an admin fee for a repeat prescription.
- For Months 4 and 5, each has a £30.00 fee for a repeat prescription.
- In Month 6, another mandatory check-up occurs with a £49.00 fee.
- Months 7, 8, and 9 each cost £30.00, all covering repeat prescriptions.
- In Month 10, a third mandatory check-up is conducted for £49.00.
- Finally, Months 11 and 12 each have a £30.00 charge for repeat prescriptions.
